Fontana-based California Steel Industries Inc. reported net losses of $2. 3 million in the fourth quarter of 2009, compared to losses of $76. 1 million in the same three month time period in 2008, according to a statement from the company.

The company ended 2009 with losses of $13. 1 million compared to a profit of $13. 3 million in 2008. The company shipped 45 percent fewer tons of steel in 2009.
